Default XT2 679 efi engine starting problems

I have an XT2 with 679 efi engine and sometimes when I push button in it just cranks like forever. I wait and the the next time it starts right up. Sometimes it take a couple of times, and other time it starts right away for a couple of times. Any help please, thanks you

Sounds like some intermittent and/or erratic electrical issue, maybe with the "push button".

I replaced the push button with a new one and it did not make a difference. Today, it would not start. After about six try's, it started, and when I went to back up, it stalled. Next time it started it ran good.

There are several models of XT2's. What is the Factory Code that is on the Model/Serial tag. It will look something like this 14AXXXXXX.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
