Huntingslife: Uuuuh, tiller?? I don't think so....The Model 1615, made only in 1987, is a Lawn Tractor NOT a Garden Tractor required to use that rototiller!! The PTO switch IIRC is for the PTO under the engine to activate the mower deck blades only...It's just a tractor style lawn mower.....

i understand it is just a lawn tractor but it has a bigger motor than my dads with the pto so i was wondering if i scavanged the pto parts from other tractors and fabricated brackets if anyone thought it was possible to make a rear pto drive for this model
is it made by mtd?? |

It is made by MTD.
Rear PTO: Possible? Anything is possible. Practical? No. The 1615 is a lawn tractor (as previously stated) and is not suitable for ground-engaging equipment. If you want a tiller, get an IH Cub Cadet garden tractor... |

A tiller would beat this thing to death. The tillers are hard enough on garden tractors.

huntingslife:
First, welcome to our Forum........... I will agree with the previous posts, the 1615 is not suited for ground engaging equipment. The PTO switch would be for turning the mower deck on/off only. The 1615 uses a Kohler "vertical shaft" motor. There would be one heck a lot of ingenuity to come up with a rear PTO if possible. Hope this helps,

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
