Stack question
I am trying to find a stack pipe for my 14 hp stock puller all the pipes I have found are good mandrel bent however they are all crush stile bends, meaning the pipe is not the same id through the bend , which in turn creates an unneeded restriction. Where can I find a true mandrel bend stack with correct id through the bend?

I did a pipe on the 147R that was with stainless steel cast but weldable smooth elbow. I believe there are some pictures on here too. It was more for show but I did not like the bend marks in the elbow as you mentioned. The elbow I bought was pricey around $40 I think but made a much nicer looking stack in my opinion. Also the bracing is important too. By the way its loud!

Thanks for the info I have midwest super cub one that I just bought it is a good mandrel bend however it is almost a 1/4 inch smaller through the bend as measured with caliper. I may have to try the stainless route and do some welding

there's nothing there (in hp gains) in what you are trying to do. trust me. the best guys in the engine biz in gt pulling have tried just about everything imaginable with exhaust pipes. you're not blazing any trails here. besides. unless you have a dyno or availability to one you're giving up free horsepower in the actual tuned length. you didn't say what horsepower it is so the pipe you have may already be the wrong size.

Just a FYI you can go to a Electrics supply house a get a conduit sweep and they do not have the ripples on the inside of the bend.

Unless you are purging that stainless tubing while you are welding it you are wasting your time and money anyway. Welding it without purging it will leave large chunks of weld on the ID of the tubing. TIG welding while purging the tubing with argon or tri-mix will produce a smooth finish on the ID.
