Cub Cadet 800 Decals
I'm spending some time in the heated garage during all this cold weather working on restoring my model 800 and I need help. I have heard that the Cub Cadet model 800 used a lighter shade of blue on the decals. Is this a fact? If so who sells the correct decal set? Thanks

MLamar: If you believe that "lighter blue" story, you don't know much about IH. I've got a Model 800 and, to me, the blue looks just like the blues on the 1200, 1250, 1450 and the 1650 I own...

Like Myron says, there seems to be no color shade difference between models. I am working on Dustin's 800 and the stripe is the same color as my 1200 and the 1450 side shields we plan to use on it. Maple Hunter should have the decals for it..

Thanks for the info guy
My hood is so faded I couldn't tell the correct shade. I think I mentioned that I "had heard" it was a lighter shade. MBounds, how about going a little easy on me. I admit there is a ton I don't know but do ya have to let everyone else in on my secret? Seriously, I really appreciate the info and I will now go ahead and order my set.

MLamar...Sorry, didn't mean to "thump" ya... Just pointing out that there is much mis-information from the "shade-tree" crowd floating around. Particularly where IH is concerned..I suggest that you believe nothing about anything IH that isn't documented and if it isn't an IH document..beware! I will say that very little bad info is found on this Forum. Every once in a while, someone will post some nonsense, but it usually doesn't stand up long before it gets corrected.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
