I do industrial maintenance for a living and have a good size personal shop, so machining, welding, and general fabrication is not a big deal for me. I have never seen the setup for the tiller attachment so I'm not sure what all it intails but I'm always up for a challange.

No machine work required, welding or fitting. Tiller gearbox bolts on. Tiller mounts to it. If your tractor doesn't have a 3pt hitch (sleeve hitch) you will need to add that also.

Here's what you need ( pictured is my 125 which is a NF , your 149 is a WF )

The tiller mount bolts directly to the rear cover. ( make sure you use slightly longer bolts ) The rear lift will raise and lower the tiller. Since this 125 is manual lift, an IH helper spring is installed. Not installed is the long belt that runs from the front to the rear to power the gearbox.

Here's how the tiller attaches and you can see the short belt since I do not have a cover for it.

Before I started fabricating parts for the tillers, I just dished out a wingnut for the depth adjustment.

As you can see, they do a great job.

Tillers are great on CC's. Bolt on easy-peasy and work great.

If your looking for one that needs fixed, trying to save a few bucks on buying a tiller. Dont do it. You spend 3 times in fixing one then just finding a good tiller. I totally rebuilt my #1 tiller , most all parts are discontinued and you'll need to find bearings and pullies that will work.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
