Meg Mo Blades?
Anybody running them on here? I'm thinking about ordering a set for my 50A and throwing it under the 149. In the spring, I get ENORMOUS amounts of grass growth and the "traditional" blades really bog the tractor down and constantly plug the exit chute. I generally mulch my lawn by way of method (throwing the grass inside the "laps") and after about 2-3 laps I'm on the governor hard and plugging up the deck. I REALLY don't want to mow twice a week and sometimes the weather doesn't make that an option.
I'm considering doing the meg mo blades in conjunction with the speed up pulley. If nothing else, the 44A I've been mowing with is going to get the speed up pulley to see how that plays out. edit: Typos |

Thanks for the feedback, Sam.
I thought for sure there would be hordes of guys on here that have tried them out on their classic steel. Looks like I'm the guinea pig if I go down that road! They do look REALLY cool though... In the "smaller" sizes like our GT decks they're not that horribly expensive either. |

I have seen them talked about a LOT on a Greene forum, they seem to like them.
I am so happy with regular blades, I have a hard time seeing an advantage!! |

The grass around here gets SO very thick in the spring that it has been plugging up my 44A since I was old enough to mow with it (some 25 years ago)...
If there is a better way to skin this cat, I'm ready to try it. If nothing else, they'll look really cool hanging on a peg board while I complain about my disappointment with them. |

This is the first time I have ever heard of em. Do you have a link for them, or are you able to buy them somewhere near you?

Did you ever read the Owners Manual on how to mow? I don't understand why one would shoot the grass to the inside of the lap's to choke up and over work their equipment.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
