1450 Starter Solenoid Location
My 1450 is cranking slow and wont start even with battery on charger. I'm wanting to check all of the connections before replacing any parts and don;t know where the starter solenoid is located. I think it's located behind the dash but can't see it to be sure. Can I get to the solenoid by removing the plate behind the fuel tank?

Yes it is on the right side when sitting on the tractor.

Thanks for the reply. I thought so but didn't want to start tearing stuff apart unnecessarily.

Remove the fuel tank & firewall to gain access to that area.
It will all come off as an assembly. Then remove the panel (2 bolts) behind the firewall. |

Thanks for the explanation! I was thinking that was what I needed to do but wasn't sure.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
