I had one of the zerks on my deck spindles pop out when I was greasing it. The threads on the zerk itself were stripped smooth. They sell them at the hardware store for cheap, should just screw in.

I was told they might be push in type I didn't see any threads on the rim and cub cadet INC. say it's a 3/16 push in. Can't seam to find a tap short enough to fit in unless some one found a way to thread it . I have a friend that owns a motor bike shop might take to him and see if he has something if not hate to have to buy a new rim when this rim is still good .

If you can't tap it to accept the screw type, maybe replace just the wheel bearing? I've seen the bearings by themselves that have the zerk attached. Sorry I can't be much help, the XT1 is fairly new and had many different variants on parts, etc.

MTD has been using push in zerks for years.

Don't know if this is possible because I have not seen exactly what you
are dealing with, but. When I have run across push in zerks I have taken the wheel and bearing apart and hand greased everything and put it back together. Was once a time when zerks were not there and we rolled bearings in greasy palms to lube them up. Ken |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
