Super build poll
I now have an 1872 and since I have a few tractors with the yellow and white paint scheme I've been thinking about painting it to look like a 982. lets put it to a vote.

If your going to do a custom build, like say change the grille or make it look more like a "big tractor" then I say yes. Otherwise, I'm with the "keep it stock" crowd.

As long as you don't paint it green/yellow, blue/white, orange/black, red/grey or any other manufacture color other than IH Cub Cadet colors.... I'm ok with it.

Your tractor, paint the hood pink and the frame purple if that is what floats your boat. Guess I'm the only one that doesn't care.

You work in a body shop, right? If you are going to paint it anything besides original, go all out and do something that only your talents and available resources would permit. Maybe a time-line mural of Cadets down the hood with a Farmall Cub on top of the hood? How about a custom upholstered seat?

Tim, are you going to use rattle cans to paint it? Just kidding, I say go original.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
