clutch spring
I am using a stock clutch spring right now . Can any one tell me approx #'s it is. I found the red at #800 and the yellow at # 1120 > How do the release levers hold up to the heaver #'s? i'm using basically a 582 set up.

The stock spring is somewhere between 250#/in. and 300#/in. I'm running the red 800#/in. spring in my worker 582 with all stock clutch parts otherwise, and I've yet to have any problems. I don't have it compressed all the way though; I've compressed it enough to have 650#, which is enough for the 18 hp engine I have in my 582.

Unless you are going full bore do not use the yellow one. I got one on my dead weight puller (106) and my girls 19 and 25 yrs. old can hardly push it in.
I have a spring from a spring tooth harrow on my 1000 with alum. clutch and it works great. I also mow with this tractor also. Pops
