Quick attach or regular hitch?
I'm getting a 42" mower deck ready to mount on my 102 and wondered what advantages there were to the different hitches out there besides the obvious. I know there are the regular attach hitches, and the quick attach ones. Is one sturdier than another? Does either tend to be more difficult to maintain? Will someone educate me on which hitch to look for and why? Thanks for all your knowledge and input.

With regards to front mount implements, IH Cub Cadet had two version. That being "Bolt On" and "Quick Attach"
CCO, 70/100 Series, 1x2/3 Series = Bolt On 1x4/5 Series and newer = Quick Attach I only have one model (100) that has the "bolt on" feature and from my personal experience, I much prefer the QA feature, that are on my other models. The bolt on feature requires a whole lot more time to remove and install implements.

Thanks Roland, that is what I was wondering. I have a QA mount I can use but I need to do some repairs to it first, someone decided to do some welding on the pulley hangers.
 I guess if it was a dedicated mower only the other mount would be fine. I intend to use mine for many uses. Thanks again!!!CaptMax

I'm still working out the Quick attach sub-frame for the mower deck, but I do have a QA snow plow I use in the winter. I'm a bit leery of the Quick attach up front, as I figure I could snag it on something and accidentally disconnect my implement. Hasn't happened though, and it probably can't. Both systems require periodic inspection. The pay attention to the front "forks" of a QA sub-frame, as they can wear. A little time with the welder and a grinder will straighten that up though. Both are good systems that are easily to put on and take off. They're both sturdy, and I haven't seen any problems from either one.

front blade/snow blade
I went to look at a guy's blade and he had added some cross stiffeners to the long under the frame pieces because he said that it tended to twist and flex when under a heavy load. That might be something you will want to look at once you are using the blade. Just make sure that the new pieces do not interfere with any thing under your tractor.
