Default Lift lever not working on 149

The lift lever on the 149 has a roll pin inside the tower that has fallen out, broke, anyway, it's gone, how can I repair this, looks like I'll need to remove the gas tank to access where the pin was. thanks

Unless the hole is severely out of round you should just be able to install a new roll pin.

"severely out of round" isn't the word for it. I took the lever out yesterday, What the shaft goes through I think would still hold a roll pin, but the hole in the lever is really messed up.

My advice is to either fix it or replace it to prevent future frustrations!......that is unless it isn't in the budget or you need it right away and we've all been there before.

I've been working on my backup snowblower because we're supposed to get more snow on saturday. Going to work on the cub tomorrow. I'll put a new roll pin in it and see how it works.

Put a small wire through the pin to keep it from falling out.

had to think for a minute what you were refering too, but yea, I'll do that. You'd think that the roll pin is supposed to stay in place.

My 149 has a ton of slop in the lift linkage, when it takes a dump it will get fixed by Mr. Miller the welder.

I'm going to try a new roll pin, and if that doesn't work, I'll try the welder.

Ever thought about welding the hole shut and drilling a new 1?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
