Default Cub Cadet Fiberglass Dashes

Good Evening!
I've recently been looking around for a replacement dash for my 129 and from the small research I've done haven't had any luck locating a reproduction. Curious if anyone knows of someone making them. If not I have considered making a mold and reproducing some myself. I was curious if I started making them if anyone would have interest in them as well?

I'm kinda using this post as a test pool to see if the investment in tools to do this would be worth while and beneficial to other cub owners.

Thanks!

Would probably be a good seller IF the price was right AND IF it was correct.

Are you into that kind of work??
Any experience in that field??
If so, please contact me as I have some other ideas in mind.

No, I am not experienced in this field though I have friends that can assist me with this.
I am also quite picky about my restorations and parts, so if I was to do it it would be 100% correct. I have already bought some things to start the mold process. It is going to be slow going until I get a few more things together.

As for price, I don't know what would be considered a fair price as I would have to calculate in material and time. Out of curiosity what would others be willing to pay for a quality part such as a restoration grade dash?

Depends on the color for one thing, like whether it will need to be painted or not.

And Hydro dashes are different then gear drive dashes, so which would you make?

Well, it has to start somewhere. I am an independent person not connected with a business, so it has to start somewhere, but could expand into different dashes for different models.
I would start most likely with one that needs painted just due to the fact that everyone uses different brand paints that may be slightly off shade of each other.
I would make sure the surface would be easy to prep for paint.

Yup, the road to the poor house was paved with good intensions.
Making this stuff is usually much easier said than done.

Well, lets see, maybe I can make it come to fruition.

I still have the NOS 126 dash and that offer is still valid.
I would think any decent part would be good to work from.
I trash canned a 126 dash last week at the Portage swap, could not even give it away as it had a big chunk out of it.

Folks slamming the hoods down on these or either the wind catches them is what causes a lot of the damage.
That and not adjusting the stops and keeping good rubber baby buggy bumpers installed where they are supposed to be!

Here are pictures of the dash I am going to be cleaning up and repairing for the first try at making a fiberglass mold. Currently it is semi cleaned up, but I need to figure out what I'm going to use to strip the paint and decals off. I'm thinking of using Marykate On and Off boat hull stripper, it leaves gelcoat and fiberglass alone, any opinions or suggestions?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
