In Texas with my new old 2072
This was on CL locally and I tried to resist but its just too cool, had to have it! I dont even need it yet. Its funny im 43 years old and this is the first riding lawn mower I have ever owned. Its a 1988
Runs great, no leaks. The power steering works great, drives great, needs some TLC- needs a seat, battery, blades and 2 of the tires leak, I will see about all new tires. Its missing the grille, but the grille frame and headlights are there. Maybe a paint job. Has a brand new starter. Deck is solid. I hope to move out to my 8.5 acres in the woods sometime soon and will take the little cub with me. Anyone know how much this cost new? |

Hey man congrats!
BUT its NOT a riding lawn mower. Its the equivalent of a what "they" call a compact tractor nowadays. Brand new I would venture it would have cost you around 7k. I have attached a pic of one WITH the side panels. Its a heck of a tractor. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
