Default NEWBY to forum..

Hi all, I was in the back yard and went over to my outbuilding lifted my covers to "step back" in time....there are my old mowers,I have a Sears Suburban 12 circa 1974, a Sears GT/16 TWIN (1978 silver and black version) and my beloved Cub cadet 1650...I got the itch to pull the GT/16 (tank was empty, thank goodness, added gas ,jumped...started right up,sat for 6 yrs) and my cub out. Im going to restore the GT and the cub,,well it's in great shape,I rebuilt the engine appx 6 yrs ago. I rebuild old cars,im 42 and right now working on several cars,My 57 Belair 2dr HT,my sons 32 Chevy Confederate,my 68 Camaro and my wife's 66 galaxie, wheeew.Im going to play with the mowers t break it up a little. I will have a question about the Cub in the appropriate forum so PLEASE input is needed

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
