Oil seal problems
I have a kt15 series II that has a small leak in the front (pto side). Can i replace that seal without tearing the motor apart? If so, any suggestions?

Easy enough just remove the pto & replace the seal. if for some unforeseen reason you would run into problems, the complete cover comes off without dissembling the engine.
Do download the service manual and follow it,-- makes it easy and answers your questions. remember when ordering the seal it is the rear seal/ pto end.

We assume you mean a KT-17 in that there is no KT-15.

Replaced mine 2 years ago. Just for fun, I put in two seals and packed grease between them. Only two years but not a drop since. I had the engine out of the tractor as I only had the tractor for two years and was cleaning 30 years of grime. I could tell by the shrouds that the engine was never touched. Still running strong for a series 1. Only a bit of smoke after it set a long time when I start it.
