New to Only Cub Cadets
Hello All and thanks for allowing me to join this form. Kinda new to Cubs, Have purchased 2 in the last month and hope to start on them soon. I'm just a old retired 65 year old that enjoys any brand that had a T in their name. The older cubs appear to be bullet proof. I have a 1811 and 147 and thinking on a 127.
Other brands that I own and enjoy are John Deere, Case, Wheelhorse, Oliver, Farmall, New Holland, Sears, Roper and Gibson. I'm not a mechanic but sure do enjoy playing like one. I do 98% of my restore work in my BUSTED KNUCKLE GARAGE. Thanks for allowing me access to all the information on this site. You answer so many question that I never have to ask. Jlitton: |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
