Default FEL Brush grapple

Hey guys, I know its been a while since I've had a project, so I thought you would enjoy this. I've wanted to build a grapple for the 149 for some time now, and I finally got around to it the last couple weeks. It mounts by slipping over the top edge of the bucket with a frame going down to the cylinder/loader arm bracket on the bucket with a bolt on each side, so it mounts in about a minute. I still have a few things to finish up, but I wanted to test it first, here are some pictures.

Very nice work! Looks like you found some great uses for it already. I love attachments, especially when there quick on/off!!

Are the tines on the grapple bent flat stock or were they cut from a sheet?

That is sweet! Great idea and easy to put on/take off. I'm thinking mister rescue11 better get on the chip as he had that idea for his R bucket.......and so did I.

Thanks, the tines are made from a set of old new holland mower deck undercarriages that were torched off. I cut the ends off right where the tube brace is in the front, flipped them and welded them back on, worked out pretty well.

Do you have a separate hydraulic valve for brush grapple?
Cylinders on grapple look like cylinders off a wide frame/quiet line IH Cub Cadet?

This is something I want to add to my loader build.

The grapple is powered by the tractor hydraulics. I removed the lift cylinder from the loader tractor and used it on the grapple ( as I have no use for it with the suitcase weights on the back) and ran two lines off the valve to the front of the loader with quick connects, and I had the other cylinder laying around.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
