1882 SGT Hydro question
I bought this 1882 about 3 months ago. It ran and mowed but needed an the engine rebuilt. During the engine rebuild I put a new tranny filter on and added fresh hy tran. The issue is that reverse is much weaker than forward. This is my first cub and first hydro so any advice is appreciated. If the pump needs to be rebuilt how much can that cost?

The first thing that comes to mind is make sure the clutch pedal is all the up. The clutch rockshaft may need a little PB Blaster or possibly the return spring is either weak or broken. Kelly

The 1882 is a hydro. The pumps have a stop inside the pump that limits how far the swash plate travels for reverse. It allows for a higher speed forward than reverse. Two things come to mind for you to check, first would be the linkage. Check to see if you are getting full travel at the pump. Second are the relief valves. If the tractor is working OK going forward your pump is probably fine.
