Default One bottom plow on a 982

Hello. I have a brinly one bottom plow. Wanted to know if I could use it on a 982 with a 3-point hitch. Or would I be able to use it on an original? I would assume the seven horse motor might not be able to do it any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

An original should handle a 10" just fine in the right conditions.A garden plot that HAS BEEN a garden plot amd NOT SOD!!

The 982 is a no brainer, if it won't handle a 10 Brinly, it ain't much of a Super!!
I pull a 12" Cat 0 with my 882 all the time and a 10" sleeve hitch unit with my 128, no issues.

Which hitch do you have on your 982?

Good luck and have fun!!

^ this, we need to know your hitch type, since a true Cat 0 3 point won't work w/ a sleeve hitch plow w/out adapters.

If your plow is the sleeve hitch type then you will need the adapter like this one to use with your cat 0 hitch.

What kind if a drawbar does your cat 0 have on it now.
One like this, regular Brinly type?
If so, I have an adaptor for that to pull sleeve hitch attachments.
No need for yet another drawbar for a specific use only.
One can bolt on nearly any adaptor to this type for any chore you may need.
I use mine for sleeve hitch, installing a ball hitch to moving trailers, or just plain towing a cart, roller, dethatcher, rear blade, drag, lawn sweeper you name it.
Here's the one I build.
If you have a Cat 0 plow or other such attachments you will need the the Cat 0 style drawbar (2nd picture) I also have available as well.

I ordered the cat 0 hitch adapter on eBay. And now installing it. It doesn't come with any instructions but it looks pretty straightforward. I've collected Cub cadets for many years but never used a cat 0 3 point hitch. I'm assuming the bolts are for tightening the plow once it's on. If anyone has a picture what it's supposed to look like when the plot was on I would really appreciate it. Thanks for all your help

I think I have the plow on the correct way except for it's swaying side to side then I assume that's what them bolts are for. Not sure how to use them to keep it from swaying.

There's normally a draft plate w/ 2 big bolts to stop the sway, but you're not really supposed to use it for plowing (back the bolts way off at least). It'll do its own thing once you get it in the furrow.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
