126 in "fair" condition
Spoke with guy today. Looks all there and somewhat unmolested except for having hole cut in tunnel by someone (ugg). Had him send me pictures of the hole and it's pretty big but at least square and I could weld it up. It has sat for a while as usual, I believe the guy that it will run but just running this by you guys because I'm an addict. I'm thinking 2 bills maybe up to $250 and will focus on the "not running" aspect but it is decent for what I usually find down here? He's owned it for 20 years and got a new mower. And it's 10 minutes away. It will almost complete my top 5 rare list although I had a 126 in the past and sold it. And yeah shouldn't have but live and learn. Thoughts?

I guess it is ok, you need to find a frame though, check the dash tower for cracks by the clutch yoke.

Why does it need a frame?

It has a big hole in it.
I would say such as a restorer as yourself, you would be able to fix it correctly top and bottom, but I think Alvy may want to just fix what you see, but knowing it is not done correctly will make him not sleep at night. Hehe

Here's the pic of the hole. Makes me mad to see people do this to narrow frames but I've fixed worse.

Hey Mr. Bater I have 2 welders and have inhaled a lot of smoke over the years. That hole is no match for me and my Hobarts thank you. My last name isn't Arthurs but I can hold my own. Did you ever see my 800 Swiss cheese fenders I did?

I'd say not bad if you can get it for $200-$250 but I'm a sucker. Hey, we aint in PA down here so we don't get great deals like them Yankee's do up there.
Let me know if you need me to weld that up for you.

If you bought it for $250 and the engine is toast, rear end busted, could you use that much in parts off it or sell it in pcs and recover your money? I would assume Cadets are scarce in Florida, so you probably have to pay a little more? Weld and Bondo, the hole is gone. Hopefully you can pick it up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
