Harbor Freight 90 amp welder
Lookig & looking around as to who had one. Then I found out that a friend of a friend of a friend has one. I went to his house & talked to him about it. For my tinker toy needs its more than adequate, bottom line. Then he suggested I tune in YouTube & they had about 10 movies & how to use. That sold me!
For the 4 projects that I need welded it will save me from hauling my stuff to a welding shop, $$$$$$$$ This guy siggested also to go buy a better wire & stick with .035. welder on sale= $ 99.00 cart w/coupon= $ 34.00 flash helmet= $ 36.00 gloves= $ 5.00

Yep, I have been thinking of getting the exact same one too. I don't need to weld anything heavy, just the usual small stuff we find on our Cubs. If I need more I can borrow my buddies big mig.

Nik, that will do the small stuff just fine!
And DWayne I am the neighbor with the BIG one, LOL. Mine is a Miller 210 that will do more than anything I could ask.

I was told welders wernt cub related
 I too am looking for a mig. I have a ranger 8 but need something for like hoods and fenders. I think Im going to stick with red and get a 140. Heres some pics from a few years back when i rebuilt the eng on it. |

For the 4 projects I have for it is well worth it to me. Having to haul my snow thrower to a welding shop will pay for itself.
I played with it for about 20 minutes today & started to get a decent bead. A little more practice & I think I'll be good to go. On the advice from the guy I went to see, he told me to get a brand name wire & go with .035 wire. It will flow easier. They also mentioned that on you tube. You tube was helpful. For the price I'm VERY satisfied & the price was good. Nik,

Those Chicago welders are a good starter welder. I had one similar to that i bought from a friend. Was a mighty mig.
A little advice.....i see you coiled up your gun and line quite tight....you always want to have a loose loop on your mig gun when storing....otherwise you run the risk of kinking the liner inside the cable. Then your welder will not feed the wire consistently. |
