1040LTX gas leak?
I used it Sunday morning with no problems. When going to work Monday morning, I noticed a couple drops on the garage floor. When I got home, it was pretty bad. I took a look and noticed it was coming from behind the carb? The bolts were a little loose that go through the air filter, made them a little tighter and seemed to fix my prob for now. I am hoping the carb isn't stuck open or the gasket went bad???
Any ideas? Also, does Cub Cadet have certified mechanics that will come to the house and service the machine? The only place by me, you need to bring it in and I have no way of getting it there. thanks for the help . . . |

At our shop we don't do house calls, just for the fact that if you need parts, they are at the shop. If you have an extended warranty it will cover P&D. If you bought the mower from a dealer and not a big box store, most of the time they will work with you on the P&D
Now to check your fuel shut off, simply put your finger on the solenoid, turn the key to the ON position, NOT START, and feel for a CLICK. If you feel the click, its working. Also pull your dipstick and be sure the fuel didn't get into the crank case. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
