Vinyl paint?
My neighbor had a gray seat that he painted black with vinyl paint several years ago for his 782D. I was looking to do the same thing for my Spirit of 76 but go from black to white. Does he mean plastic paint or is there a vinyl paint?

They do make a dye for vinyl but I doubt you would be able to go from black to white.

Where can I get some Vinyl paint? I think it's worth a shot considering I'll probably never find the right seat for my Spirit.

I found vinyl paint at AutoZone for $7.49 a can. I will let you all know on the results.

I got the paint, painted my seat, then decided it was too white. Although the paint match was horrible I was able to completly cover the old black and will be ordering the correct white from Rustoleum pronto.

Here you go, the results. It turned out lighter than I wanted but it will do for those short Sunday drives around the yard. I have someone looking for a NOS one for me, that will be my "show seat".

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
