Hello everyone
Hey, My name is Justin and I'm the new owner of an electrical disaster concealed by the beauty of an 1105 hood.. I'm new to Cub Cadets in terms of owning and repairing, but my step-dad had an older model (127 perhaps?) hydro. It was a great mower, so when I found this one for $150, I decided to take a chance with it. Mechanically, it seems to be ok, though it doesn't drift freely in neutral and the brakes are pretty well ineffective. Should it have a little resistance to free movement like that or is that a sign of another issue? It sorta.. makes a light clicking or ratcheting sound while being moved. The electrical issues are probably the easiest for me, so dealing with the PO's attempt at a custom PTO switch is just a matter of staring at the harness until the flow makes sense on the machine as well as on the diagram. A little more about me, I've done many things in terms of work.. I ran the donut production line at a krispy kreme, I've been an electrician, a golf course irrigation tech/laborer, a network installation tech, and a machinist (which also turned into being an electronics tech in a way.. had to figure out why my 52" Vertical Turret Lathe would only take .300 cut when it should be taking about .75 without the DC drive going into alarm and stopping the spindle.. I had fun learning that =] ) As of now, I'm in the delayed enlistment program in the Air Force Reserve. Waiting for a confirmed date to go to TX and MS for basic and tech school. 10 month training for an electronics job . Well, there isn't too much else to note.. so, I'll stop rambling. This seems to be a very nice site, glad to be a new member. Thanks in advance for any assistance with the problems I'll undoubtedly run into with this tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
