Default Motorized snow blower chute
Saw this and thought some of you might be interested. Uses a car window motor to turn the chute.

Thought about doing that many times, but haven't figured how to keeps foreign objects out of the gear teeth, unless I put the spur gear on the bottom instead of the top.
With a gravel drive, it does happen quite often.

I have seen numerous setups with electric and hydraulic motors. Haven't heard anyone complaining of foreign debris in the teeth yet.

That info wasn't specified with the photo. I'd imagine any 12 VDC power window motor would work.

That's one of the few that actually work and don't involve the secret weapon.

I really think that electric chute control was offered on the QA but can't find any info to be sure. The Haban snowthrowers had the option. That set-up is either very well built, or it's a factory part. Looks similar to the one offered for the Haban's.

Where's Lew? That guy's never around when you need him.......

I never seen nor heard of a IH/CC built electric chute control for the QA series snow throwers. If there was such an option, I surely would like to see it.

Probably built similar to the IH 830 silage chopper with electric schute.

The 830 chopper used an electric actuator to turn the spout and the IH #80 snow blower I have uses a steel cable wrapped around the spout that's pulled by a hydraulic cylinder to turn it.
