Good to see someone from the Dakotas. I live just north of you in Fargo, North Dakota. You are correct, not too many of us around. I wish there were some local garden tractor rallies. It would be good to meet you!

Hello and Welcome! Cool to hear you still have the cub from when you were 16! I have my 1200 dad bought when I was 9, he was the second owner. I repainted it a few years ago and rebuilt the engine last year. I agree it was fun to rebuild the engine!

Welcome, there are a few of us cub guys in SD. Did you make it to Red Power last June there was a pretty good Cub Cadet turnout.
I am not sure where you are located, but there is a garden tractor club in southeast SD that hold events, shows, plow days, and pulls. You can PM me if you want to chat some time. Mike |

I assume by your name that you are from the black hills. That should make for some scenic backgrounds for cub pictures. I'm from northwest IA so not really that far.
Welcome and let's see some pics Terry

Hillscubs, by any chance do you have a mower deck that would fit my 1650? If not do you know where I could pick one up for a decent price around Rapid here?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
