This Followed Me Home....What Is It?
A guy called me and told me he wanted to sell his 1782. I went to see it and this is what I found!
A diesel, with a 3 point at a very good price. It runs great and is very easy to start. I guess this is one way to remedy the junk plastic syndrome common with a Cyclops.

That's pretty cool! I think it needs some side panels, tho. Maybe you better just turn that over to me
I need some deals like that! Nice score, Tim!

Would this be the guy you bought it from?
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=13042 This one is or was a 2182, if it's the same tractor then he swapped the gasser for a diesel. Edit: In ready the whole thread I see he did the same thing on a 1782. Edit: Links to MTF on his build of that tractor. Sam, I got both of his tractors. He parted out the 2182 earlier this year and I got the frame and miscellaneous parts then later he sold me the engine.
Last week he called me and let me know he was selling the 1782. For what he wanted, I couldn't pass it up. Since it has been modified, I think I'm going to do some things to it and use it as a dedicated loader tractor. Also, I've got some ideas on another method of using 82 series sheet metal. I've got too many ideas and too little time and energy! Tim

I always thought the conversion he did looked pretty cool. For what ever that's worth. Glad you got it.

I'm a fan. I read through the linked thread on how he did it and I think it looks pretty good. It kinda makes you turn your head and look at it a second time and wonder why it looks good, because you want to think it shouldn't, but it just does. Congrats on the purchase.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
