I built me a dethatcher
I've been thinking about getting a dethatcher. Most of the ones I've seen, look kinda flimsy and run over the $100 mark. Then I realized, I had a nice pile of scrap angle iron. So I ordered 12 tines from Brinly-Hardy at $1.87 each, and today I got to work.
I still need to test it out. The ground is way to wet today.

Perfect! Looks like it will work as good if not better than a new one.
I always enjoy something I make way more than something I buy. Plus, like you did, it is better built and lasts longer. Nice work.

Ah, ya gotta paint it dude! problem is, I just never figured out the real benefits of a dethatcher? I mean, its not like I dont like tools, cause tools are cool. But ??

never had one before, from what i've herd they help get all the dead grass and such out of the roots so there is better aeration and water flow. ill find out if it helps soon enough.
