Kohler Command 22 HP fuel pump
I discovered that my CCC 3240 non-starting issue is due to a bad fuel pump; I'm not getting a drop of fuel to the carb. I have been told that the valve head and fuel pump are one unit and cost over $100 to replace. Has anyone else found a way to fix it, or find one at a much lower cost.

Sam where does the vacuum style get its signal from the engine? I want to switch to the vacuum style pump.

On the front of the engine you'll find a 1/8" pipe plug. You'll need a 1/8" X 1/4" hose 90 degree elbow. 1st pic is where you hook up the hose 2nd pic is the elbow. I got one the other day at O'Reilly's. 3rd pic is the 1/8" pipe plug. You can use one of these for the pump.

This pic is the fuel pump I referenced on a CH18 so you can see how it mounts. If you're engine doesn't have the mounting holes for it then you can just mount it on the fire wall like they did on the 1862's.

I noticed that pipe plug on the front cover and wondered if that was the port. I think the flange for my PTO covers it, although it might be trimmable. Thanks for the help Sam.
