No Spark-147
My 147 started fine, I drove it about 10 feet out of the garage and it stalled as if I turned the key. It wouldn’t start back up. It’s turning over, but not getting spark. It is getting 12v at the coil. I lightly sanded the points, the condenser was replaced about a year ago. Any ideas what to check next?

Maybe coil or plug wire is bad ? It can be tested with ohm meter .

I replaced both with known good ones and it didn’t make a difference.

Points may be broken, do they open and close when cranking?

Either like Lew says or maybe you have wire shorted out or broken, especially the one from coil to points.

Do you have spark at the coil with a test light when cranking?

Ground the clip end of your test light and touch the other on the - side of the coil and crank it over it should light and go out as the points open and close, that will tell you if the wiring and the points are good. Another thing to check with what you described is the possibility that the needle valve in the carb could be stuck up in the seat. Tapping at the inlet elbow usually unsticks it. I just rings a bell because that’s happened to me a couple times at the edge of the barn
