Seals
This tractor has been worked pretty hard.
I know there is a leak around the relief valves, as well as the hydro seal and also a trunion seal (the easy one). I started pulling it apart and while into it just 'do them all'. Was also going to drill the axle tube drain holes while apart. At the same time this trunion is pretty buggered up. I do have a complete second rear end ... could just swap the entire rear end now that I think about it. I havent run the second rear that much but know it has a relief valve leaking. But dont know of any seal leaks. Could do all that work and then need to pull it anyway. Hmm.. decisions decisions. |

its always amazing to me someone would spend more time half azzing it then doing it the correct way. i believe in do it once,do it right.

And need the internal brake seal. Will also add a top plate gasket to the list. What did I miss? (anyone already put together a cheat sheet for a rear end build? If not, maybe its time I pulled it together with part numbers and cross references) |

Im not that keen on breaking the hydro if I dont need to. Also, this one has internal brakes and I only see an oring listed (not a 'seal' per se). Top cover gasket appears to be no longer available so making my own or silicone it is. i didnt mean you yeeter,i meant the po and the weld repair to the trunion.if this was a known good unit i would repair it. if your unsure on the other one it would suck to install it only to find out that your back to square one. i do not mean to offend anyone,sorry if i did.

I think the original repair was just worn out again. Although it looks kinda funky, I think it worked.... it just wore out.
