Its alive!!! 1450 w/dual hydraulics
My newly acquired dual hydraulics 1450. I bought this tractor just before Christmas. I ran across this on Craigslist and the dual hydraulics caught my eye. I hadn't had time to mess with it any. PO said it had a bad hydraulic leak and had been sitting for some time. Well with today's beautiful weather I couldn't resist to fool with it. Added hydro oil, put in a little go go juice, booster cables and...... nothing. Jumped directly to starter, ah ha we have rotation, but no bang bang. No problem, hot wire to coil, nope ain't gonna do it. I pulled plug no spark. Okay no problem pull point cover, hot feed to coil jump points with screw driver, it was the prettiest blue arc of life you have ever seen. Cleaned points re-install plug, presto change O, badda boom and badda Bam she hit faster the a politician on the campaign trail. This ole man is all grins. No smoke, no abnormal noise. I am thrilled.
So as for the hydraulic leak I just knew it was the automatic check valves but no, the drive shaft is wobbling something awful, looks like a little seepage around the pump shaft. No problem, so now I will do cradle modification, new Iso's correct the drive shaft, replace the pump seals. Then I can play Ugh I mean work on it before giving it the "Restoration" treatment. Oh I know the drill, Photos to follow. Have a great day All.. BudsCub.

Yes Sir, Sam it is especially when it is unknown. Still grinning, It is sitting out there idling as I tyoe this.
My garage is a total wreck right now and I should be running drywall mud, but hey I can do that when the sun sits. Just enjoying that K321 rumble at the moment. I have been enjoying this forum just reading and Listening to what everyone has to tell.

finally a pic
Well here is a photo of 2 of the boys, 1969 - 125, 1978 -1450 w/dual hydraulics. Finally got a little time and ambition to tinker. Found the main hydro leak to be the brake piston. Did cradle mod, moved top mounts to the bottom sway bar bushings on top. Made a new drive shaft to replace bent original. New bushing plate on crank, new flex disk, doubled the rear. Trunion repair new springs. All in all tractor is pretty sweet. Can t say as much for the deck. Low and behold another leak reared it's head, I believe to be axle tubes, but haven't played enough to wanna pull it back down.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
