Default Convert Sears Hitch Attachment To CAT "0"

Many times people run into old Sears attachments, I thought I would show how I converted one to CAT "0".







This drag works "Super" behind my 1872!!

Take out two bolts, the attachment is unchanged!!

The drag is incredible at spreading mulch, I am too old to use a rake.

I spread 25,000 pounds of mulch with this and the 1872 last year.

Weld away!! < Welding Rods!!

CAD : Looks like it would work great,
how long are the spikes ??
I have a lot of rail road spikes and can weld them on angle iron
and make me something like that,

i like the fact that it is unaltered from factory. sears collectors love original attachments and pay quite a bit for them as well. good job on the convert.

Cool pics and am wondering if you did any modifications to your cat 0 lift in this pic as far as the top link attachment point goes? My lift on the 1782 looks just like this one but it will not accept the top link from tractor supply as the width of the opening is only5/8 and the eyelet is wider than that... just wondering if you were able to find a narrower one or did you mod the lift which is what i'm thinking of having done. Sorry to derail.

You simply narrow the top link ball with a 4 1/2" grinder.

I read about the "unavailable toplink" all the time, guess this proves otherwise!!

That is a regular TSC style CAT "0" top link.

Those spikes are only about 4" long, If I were to make one, I would make them 6" long.

They probably were longer when new!!



The cool thing about that drag is you can pull a pin, and change the angle of the pins to almost laying down, that is the main reason I "upgraded" this particular drag.

If you look at the side view, there is one hole adjustment more straight up, and two holes of adjustment more laying down.

The shown setting is great for mulch leveling, as well as the garden soil smoothing!!
