Ill bet the whole unit is loose, or broken. Ive only seen a hand full that were broken, most are loose or missing a bolt from vibration or not tight from the factory.
I think I have to do a 1045 tomorrow, if I get it on the bench Ill do a few pics to what I mean. Chancces are if a bolt or a pice is missing cub wont cover it as the deck vibrates. |

Check my deck yesterday and the way I do it is with a set of calipers , set the blades east/west then measure the side opposite the adjustment then compare it to the side with the adjusting bolt.
If the side with the bolt needs to move undo the top lock nut and wind bottom nut anticlockwise to lower or clockwise to raise that side , relock top nut , measure again and you may have to repeat procedure again to fine tune. Remember as you raise or lower the adjusting bolt side the other side does move fractionally in the opposite direction Also on the Cub Cadet site you should be able to download a manual that shows how to do it |

Like the guy said down under. I use 2x2 on the bench and we run 12 lbs of air in the front tires and 10 on the rear. Tire will also give you an unlevel deck. Ive seen this little nut on the back have broken weld and they wont stay level. This one is in for new drive idler, only has 34 hrs on it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
