Start Help Needed - Wiring Schematics
I was mowing my back field the other day with my SLT1554 and I stalled it due to high/wet grass clogging the deck. When I went to restart, it bumped the engine then nothing. I now have no power whatsoever when key is turned to on position. No lights and no indication of any power. There is nothing wrong with the battery (almost 13 volts) and I even tried jump starting but still no power to anything when key in on position. I checked the 20amp & 5amp fuse in the wiring harness and they are good. Checked for voltage to the key switch at the wire connector and have no voltage to it. I do however have 12+ volts going to the wire connector for the reverse safety switch connector above the key switch. I've checked what manual PDF's I have and none have a wiring schematic for me to trace further throughout the wiring system. Anyone know where I can obtain a wiring schematic for a 2007 SLT1554 CC? Anyone else familiar with this issue occurring and or what may be causing no power to get to the ignition switch? Oh, I did check for voltage to the relay at the connector and I have no voltage there either.

It probably just lost battery connection. Did you check that? Clean the battery connections, make sure the PTO is off and try again.
The SLT1554 isn't exactly a bush hog... Maybe you should reconsider using it as such. |

Reverse Switch/RMC
After briefly reading through the pages, I'm definitely going to have to perform several of the tests. Was hoping something would stand out as to the possible fault. I do know the reverse module hasn't worked in a couple years. The mower blades would stay on when reversing and the key just in the standard run position. Kind of nice that it worked than way. This spring the motor kept running a few seconds after the key was placed in the stop position when I'd shut it down. Reading some of the info and knowing I already have these two issues, I know for certain I'm in need of a RMC/Ignition switch assembly. Now with the pages printed out, I can head on to trying to figure out exactly what the no power even to the lights issue is.

Bush Hogging is a little rough on her but she's done it before when needed. Hate having to treat it that way but working long shifts, our grass so wet all the time from humidity and this almost daily rain for over a month has caused my field to grow real high. Really do need a large tractor and bush hog but funds and spouse separation/probable divorce has really put a damper on any large purchases. I do love that my SLT1554 has been such a little beast when needed though.... |

Will make sure I post the results once I determine the cause. Hope it is just the battery connections. I have had the issue before as a result of a battery terminal cracking off though that's not it this time. Made sure the connections were tight before walking to the garage to get my cables and ATV. Got my fingers crossed and will

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
