Red 982 with rear pto
Got a chance to buy a red 982 with rear pto. Above average shape with original paint. Good seat. Hours unknown. Supposed to run great. Has "front remotes for a plow that comes with it." So I took that as dual hydraulic ports out the front and a power angle blade for the front. So, what's a fair price for both buyer and seller? I am supposed to drive an hour and a half tomorrow to go see it.

I would not put more than 1k because of the the unknown hours, but if I wanted it I would go as high as 1500.00. It looks like a clean, well kept, tractor.

Looks pretty clean but I'm seeing a power steering cylinder that isn't correct for a 982.
 That is a MTD built machine but that doesn't make it any less valuable to me. Is the power angle a Haban? If so, those bring some pretty good money. Heck, Sam Mac sold me one and it doesn't even snow here in Georgia.  Engine should be an Onan B48G. Should be good for several thousand hours but may throw a rod at any time if run a little low on oil. It depends on how bad you want it. I'm thinking that is a $1500 to $1800 machine. I wouldn't buy it for $1800 but then again I won't sell any of mine for less than $1800.

Hey, I got it. The engine has been replaced with a Magnum 18 with 441 hours on it and the tractor has about 1400 hours on it. Thanks for all of your suggestions. It is my first super and to use an '80's expression, I'm like totally stoked. I will post picts of it soon!!

That's "super" nice Maxwell congrats. I'm "super" jealous although I have a super smoker now there's just something about those red 982s, love em.
