I'm working on fixing up a 100 and while it's dismantled I decided to seperate the brake pedal from the clutch pedal to make it more like a real tractor. It will also make it easier to take off uphill without the tractor rolling backwards between the time the brake releases and the clutch engages. I've got everything figured out and I just need to finish making the pieces. I'm making the brake pedal a mirror image of the clutch pedal so it will look like it came that way from the factory. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow and as this project progresses.

Here are some pics for you guys. The brake seems to work pretty well. I need to get some stronger return springs for the pedals. When I push down hard on the brake pedal it causes the clutch pedal to pull down about 1/8". A stronger spring should take care of that. The only things I had to alter on the tractor were drilling a hole for the return spring to hook into and a knockout hole for a roll pin and I had to cut 2.25" off the clutch pedal pivot rod.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
