Default Cub Cadet 800 problems, NEED HELP

well the 800 needs help when i was driving it and put it into gear it wont move or very little but i think its the clutch i put on a pick of it this is from a number of years i didnt have it is the clutch the prob and if so where can i get a new one

looks like your pressure plates are wayyyyyy too far apart to grab the disc in the center. your disc may be worn down so much it won't grab, or something is worn through on your pressure plates. on all the gear driven cubs ive had, when the clutch is fully depressed, there should be very little gap between the pressure plate and the clutch disc. just enough to wiggle the clutch disc back and forth or up and down slightly. looks like you have a 3/16ths, 1/4 inch gap between the two. thats where i would start.

you either need to have the clutch rebuilt, or buy another good clutch. personally, its cheaper to buy a used clutch that is good, but rebuilding your clutch will give you the knowledge that it will be good for another 40 years...or less depending on what you use it for. but rebuilding the clutch can be tricky, you need a special clutch compression tool to compress the spring enough to extract the roll pin and put the roll pin back in. i would take it to a cub cadet dealer to have them rebuild it.

you are going to want to have

a new clutch disc, resurfaced clutch plates, new throwout bearing, new teaser spring and new roll pins. other stuff im probably forgetting but its easier to take it to a dealer and have them redo it....or buy all the parts using a parts breakdown of the clutch and redo it yourself. either way will work

i rebuilt 2 clutches already, its easy but u have to remove the engine,

Rebuilding the clutch isn't really hard to do. I would download the service manual from the site and follow the directions.
And don't use roll pins, use coil pins, much stronger than a roll pin. Doing the service yourself will give you the satisfaction of knowing you will be able to service the tractor for years to come, and the experience you gain is valuable down the road.
All parts can be purchased from a dealer, or one of the sponsors at the top of the page. However you will need the plates trued up on a lathe.

Also looks like your teaser spring (the little short one) is busted and you are missing the cup that it fits in, either that or it is together wrong.

i like to pull the motor to get it out, its easier , IH 147, i rebuilt it by cleaning up the shaft, polishing the pressure plates, replacing clutch disk, and teaser spring if thats broke , and check out the throw out bearing
