Rear Lift
I am thinking about getting a 149 that is for sale where I live. However it does not have a rear lift. My question is if you get and older model cub such as that, one can a rear lift be put on it if it doesn't have one? This is the second one I have found close to me in good shape without a rear lift. I would/will get this tractor if I can put a rear lift on it. Also if so where is good place to get complete rear lift kit? Thanks. New to cubs just got my first one (122) and I'm hooked! Thanks for any help on this

The mounting holes do already exist on your machine. It is pretty easy to install on a wide frame. You need to find a wide frame specific hitch $75-$175. They are pretty common on E-bay but check you local Craigs list for parts machines first, Somtimes you'll be able to get the whole tractor for the price of the hitch on E-pay.
149 is a good machine, I have two now after buying one at a yard sale for parts. Then as the fever set in I ended up fixing them both.

Yes. A rear lift can be put on any IH Cub Cadet garden tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
