Sleeve hitch
So in reading up on the 100's I've seen mentioned a sleeve hitch/adaptor. What is the purpose of it and does anyone have a pic of one installed on a 100? Thanks

The main purpose of the Sleeve Hitch, once installed on the tractor, is to pull, raise and lower rear mounted implements. See link: Sleeve Hitch
Go to the Cub Cadet Events section and watch some "plow day videos" to give you a prime example of a Sleeve Hitch function.

Most folks use the phrase “sleeve hitch” and IH 3 point interchangeably. The IH style 3 point has the lift pin and associated parts as well as the bottom bracket. The sleeve hitch adapter package attaches to this. It’s the u shaped bracket on the bottom and the straps that go up to the pin.
This allows you to use Brinly style implements with the IH 3 point.

Thanks for all the replies on the sleeve hitch question. Is the sleeve hitch model specific or will one fit all the narrow frame tractors? Thanks Dave

The reference to the Frame Width is based on the front of the tractors. See this link... Frames
Since the IH rear ends we pretty much all same up through the 82 series (S/N: 720,000> started the Aluminum rears), the Sleeve Hitch was the same.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
