Default Optional deck size for my tractor?

I own a LTX1050VT which obviously has a 50" deck. Is there a 42" or a 48" deck that will fit on my tractor with out doing all kinds of revamping?
I like the 50" deck but when I need to haul the tractor in my pickup I have to remove the deck, load the tractor, lift the deck onto the tailgate and strap it down. I have gotten really good at doing this but as I get older it is getting harder. If I had a 48" deck I could just drive the whole thing up onto the truck.

A 48" deck still will not fit without removing it. As for fitting a smaller deck on it I do not think you can.

Sounds like it's time to invest in a nice 1 or 2 place trailer!

My experiences with loading ramps, pickups, and a tractor with the deck mounted is that if the angle of the ramps and tailgate is too acute,
the mower deck gets hung up at that point and then you have a PITA to deal with.

If the deck is mounted, I use the trailer.

The 42-inch and 46-inch That were Made for the LTX1000 series will also fit On His LTX1050VT with out an issue! So if the decks were Made for these LTX Models LTX1040, LTX1042, LTX1045, LTX1046 They will fit On His LTX1050VT They'll mount right up

Sergeant, a question, and not questioning you per se, but it seems that once we get out of the vintage Cub models, mower decks no longer have model number i.d.'s.
Is there some cyber place out there for newer stuff that you can provide that shows information such as "what fits what" that could simplify answers to questions such as this o.p.'s. Thanks.

As Ironman says , my local Cub dealer dug a small trench about 6" deep the width of his truck , then backed it into trench and voila the tailgate and/or loading ramps were not at an acute angle to hang the deck up , he also has a trailer and does the same thing

You can do it from Cub Cadet Parts: Diagrams ! It Just Takes a little research.
For example the mowing deck Lift Link On a LTX1050 VT 783-05546A-0637 is the same Lift link used On a LTX1042, LTX1045, LTX1046, GTX1054, I-series Lawn tractors and Even SLT tractors. There just to0 Many tractors to list here

You type In the part number, and it comes up with a where-used link. You click On Where Used and it Gives You a List of which machines use the same Lift Link which is used On 57 different Cub Cadet Models all the way Up to the GTX1054. The Only Issue You Might run into is if the deck is set up for an electric PTO or a Manual PTO.

A Manual driven deck to a tractor with an electric PTO is Usually Not a Problem But an electrically engaged deck to a Manual PTO on a tractor can be an Issue where You Have to Figure out the Parts You Need to add to the deck so the tractor's manual PTO engagement lever can engage the deck. The 42-inch deck is actually pretty simple to convert from electric to Manual and the 46-inch isn't Bad either converting an electrically driven 50 or 54-inch to Manual engagement can be an issue

Basically, all the LTX1000 series tractors are Basically the same, whether it is a Lawn tractor or a Garden tractor. The only thing that really changes is how the deck is engaged (electric or Manual) and The transmission. And engine Brand, everything else is the same. Attachments mount to the tractor the same way. To Mount a 42-inch deck On a LTX1054VT, You need to use the 42-inch deck's Front draft Rod because it is Longer than the front Draft Rod On the 50-inch deck that is on the LTX1054VT

MTD does not make an attachment Chart Book like they did In the 1980s and 1990s. Which does suck. But You just have to do the legwork yourself. on the Cub Cadet Parts website .

Now and LT 1000 deck will not work on an LTX Model . But an LT1042 deck will work on a LT1050.

Just have to do your research with anything from 2004 to present on the Cub Cadet parts website

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
