Major find!!!
Oh guys you're gonna just love what I have to share with you all!!! Via Facebook and Fatbiking (I have WAY to many hobbies) I received a message from the son of one of the guys that actually drafted up the plans for the original cubs! We have to thank Calvins66Cub in away because I use a picture of his wonderful steering wheel caps as my Facebook avatar which was how the guy on Facebook realized I'm a cub cadet enthusiast.
Here is a link to a bunch of amazing photos and drawings from the past. It's insane to think that the cubs we are enjoying right now originated from the pages you're going to see I was given permission to share these photos with you all. Please be kind and only share with folks that will enjoy and respect them. Some of the pictures are actual documents drafted from his father and I have not read them all to really know the entire extent of the content. https://drive.google.com/folderview?...1U&usp=sharing

Great find!
Having a career in drafting, it is all very interesting to me. Click on the folder labeled "Book" for some really good early renderings and engineering mark ups. |

That is an amazing find. I can see aspects of a lot of the later models in the early drawings of the original and 70/100.

Those are very cool! And interesting to see! That's a very interesting design Roland! I always wondered why the grill on the 82 series wasn't designed like the 88 series tractors. I'd bet there are other concept drawings out there somewhere, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing those! I'd love to see someone make the one with the v-shaped grill and creased fenders.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
