Default 1200 running poorly

So adjusted carb a bit and seemed to be running fine for about 30 mins. then acted like it was running out of fuel , then a pretty loud back fire before stopping. Should not have run out of fuel, but could not get it restarted. Pulled plug and it was white in color and very hot. Tried starting today and back to square one with not starting. Changed plug, plug getting good spark . Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you have some sort of Fuel Delivery problem.

I second Roland's fuel problem comment. See if it will fire on a little brake cleaner. If it does then you know its fuel related

OK.. so you have a new carb. Did you clean the tank, lines, change filter/ sediment bowl, screen in tank?

White in color, lean condition.

Is this a Chinese clone carb?

What was wrong with the old carb?

Tried spraying some brake cleaner into carb while turning engine over, to no avail.

Maybe it broke the connecting rod...does it have compression when you turn it over by hand?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
