Default Cultivator
Is there a certain way a Brinly cultivator is suppose to be set up so it works right?

YES! Any attachment you HOOK UP to you're tractor need's SET to you're tractor. All tractors have different size tires, hitch's, hitch height's, etc.

Well this cultivator is going ton my 105 with 8.5s turfs with wheels weights. I was thinking down pressure was needed so i put solid lifting straps on it.

Default Cultivator
You don't need down pressure. The way the cultivators are designed they will pull there self down. The wheels are suppose to set depht. Most cultivators you find are missing the wheels, but work really well without them. You just have to keep you eyes on them nd keep adjusting the height. You could make a set of wheels easy enough though.

I have a set with and a set without the wheels. I use the one without the most. I set the rear tines deeper than the front ones but not much deeper than the front. It works fantastic, in fact I just broke ground on the garden with it and it did an awseome job...

Hi Donovan, Which type of cultivator are you working with, the one that is supposed to have wheels or the one with the big "C" shaped shanks.

I parked my tractor on 4x4's then lowered the cultivator , then set the knifes to the floor in my shop.

It depends on the type of shovels that are on it. You want it set so that when it is in working position the shovels are angled to pull themselves into the ground.

Just my opinion, but a good starting place is that when the cultivator is in working position, the shanks should be straight up and down and the points should be (however deep you want to be) below the tractor tires.
