New to occ, is anyone else from Rhode Island?
Hello everyone! I signed up about 3 weeks ago but I'm still kind of new to OCC. I do have a thread in "welcome to occ" and so far have some met nice people. Im just wondering if anyone else is from RI or near by? I've been wanting an old IH cub cadet since I was a little boy. And I finally got my first IH Cub in October 2015 at 34 y/o and found that I only wanted more! I've been a small engine mechanic for going on 19 years and I have been raising my awesome 5 year old boy solo since he was born. Him and I really enjoy driving the cubs around the neighborhood and I love finding them and bringing them back to life. I have met some nice people and other collectors over the past few months when buying or bartering for my next Cub. I have also learned a lot about IH Cub Cadets from guys who have had them most of their life. Anyway It would be cool to have fellow members near by. But even if you're not from RI I'm always up for meeting new friend's. Especially when we have at least one thing in common. We love our Cub Cadets!

I'm from Massachusetts, right up the street. It sounds like you're doing a great job with the Cubs, and your son. Keep up the good work!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
