Smile hydraulics for 1200

I recently bought a 1200 that I want to strictly use for plowing the garden and going to a few plow days. Im not really sure where and how to mount a cylinder or what kind of pump to use. Could I just use a power steering pump?

Yes you can use a power steering pump. Since you wont need the pto clutch anymore, take it off and put a normal pulley on and mount the pump up there. Then get the hydraulic lift componets off of a1650 or 1450 and 8t will all bolt up. Just need to run lines from the pump to the valve and it will look close t8 a factory set up.

Your 149 should have hydraulic lift from the factory

Thanks for the tip!! Ill have to go hunt down some of these parts. With the lift components is that basically a 3 point?

On my 149 could I put a T on my existing hyd lines and go to a hyd remote like the ones on the big row crop tractors ie. JD 4430. The only reason Im thinking that is I have a junk 4430 and 4020 to rob hyd parts from on my farm. The remotes are indedependent vales

The JD valves are closed center valves and they would not work. Not to mention how big they are. You would not tee into the line you would run it in series with the other valve. I think the best bet would be to get a 2 spool from a 1650.

Ok next question. Does the pump on my 149 flow enuf to handle a hyd motor? My plan has been to run a biger deck on the back that hooks up on the 3 pt and i have several spair hyd motors off of old implments( for those who might know...rod weeder motors) and I dont know what flow they need or whay the tractor puts out. Plus it would be nice to run hyd cylinders.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
