Paint sprayer

I'm looking for a decent spray gun, I have never sprayed before but want to learn, I am doing a 149 for my son now, but i will be shooting my 48 f1 this summer, does anybody have a recommendation on a starter gun for me. i don't want to break the bank but don't want to waist my money either.

I second the harbor freight gun. For the money you cant beat it.

Well I bought that Harbor freight gun kit, $49.00, Easy to use, We ( my Dad and I) primed the frame, it did a great job, was easy to clean and I agree, I dont think I would waist my money on a rattle can again. Thank you again, I am going to invest in a good compressor next though. Im thinking the IR 2 stage 60 gal. from tractor supply, any thoughts? Thanks again.

I don't know your budget but the 2 first choice from Air compressor direct speak by themselves...

The Quincy is US made with a Baldor motor.

I sprayed my frame, front axle, and rear end Tuesday night, looks pretty good hanging in the garage, have to pull it out in the sunlight to see for sure. It was my first time painting with a gun, but I liked it, nice coverage, I was a little confused about the mixing, my paint said 8 to 4, but my mixing cups don't have that ratio, so after a beer I decided 4 to 1 was the same, why do they do that, it doesn't make sense. I'll post some picture when I get it out in the light.

Hate to tell ya, Daniel, but 2 to 1 is the same as 8 to 4.

What he said, 4 to 1 means you didn't put enough hardener in. What paint are you using?

oh boy, really, I guess i shoulda had 2 beers and rethought it. I just don't get the ratio thing, it don't make sense to me. It dryed fine but im guessn this means its not going to be as rugged as it should be? i'll look at what kind it is when I get home tonight.
