Front weight basket
A friend wanted something up front to counter the carryall I built for his 2082. So I put this together. We easy to make tilt so is now a dump. He will put proper pins in it, paint and make it pretty. I really like it and want to build another for myself.

Does it connect to the quick hitch or is it bolted on?

I went with bolt on only. Is easy to add a qa bar if he wants later. But the perches are annoying when it is off as they dig the floor and anything else you set it on. Thought about doing a car hood latch for a release. But he does not plan to work it as a dump. Am worried it will block the lights some, but we shall see.
Best part is material was free plus a couple angles I had. Even so that is a bit of welding. Added drain holes or it would be water tight. Added the rib around the top of the basket so it could be beat on. It is one tuff basket. And not very heavy. Thanks guys, I am pretty proud of it. |

Looks great. If lights are a concern pick up some cheap LED lights and mount on the sides. Just curious, how much counterweight is he going to put in there? Looks like it would also come in handy if you were hauling gardening supplies, fence repair supplies and towing a trailer or sprayer, somewhere to carry the chainsaw while towing a load of firewood/brush, etc. Lot of uses I see.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
