Picked up a 1914 & 1872
Within the last couple weeks I have acquired a couple supers to add to the collection. The first one is a 1914 roller. It came with a Haban deck and Haban power angle blade. It's got IH hubcaps on it that has been painted over. Nice set of ag tires on it. The 3 pt. has been removed at sometime during it's life. The 2nd one is an 1872 with 900 hrs on it. It is said to run. I acquired it off a friend at work. He bought a sub compact john deere and just parked this one. It has a really nice 60" Haban deck with it and a modified 42" modified IH blade with it. I hope to get this one fired up tomorrow after I clean the fuel system add a couple new plugs to it. Got a bunch of wire connections to clean up. Paid $700 for both tractors.

Lew the only thing I know for sure is the ags are going on the 1872. I think I will probably part with both of the Haban decks. I might take the 18hp Command engine out of my 682 and put it in the 1914 someday. I hope to get enough out of the decks to fund a cat0 3pt hitch for the 1872.

Yes Oak the PTO is missing. The rear end has been changed as well. A cast iron rear end has been installed at some point in it's life. I doubt it has the correct gear ratio for a super. I have since bought a super rear for it. I also have the correct super hydro pump that I had as a spare when I had the 1572. It's for sure a work in progress. I will be concentrating on the 1872 right now.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
